Bob Addis was an American baseball player born on June 18, 1922, in Erie, Pennsylvania. He was a talented infielder who started his professional career with the Erie Sailors in 1941. In 1943, he joined the Pittsburgh Pirates but didn't see any major league action due to World War II. Bob Addis made his major league debut on April 18, 1950, with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He played in 68 games that season, hitting .223 with three home runs and 17 RBIs. He was a versatile player and could play multiple positions, including first base and third base. After two seasons with the Dodgers, he was traded to the Chicago Cubs in 1952.

Addis played four seasons with the Chicago Cubs, where he had some of his best seasons in the major leagues. In 1953, he hit .284 with nine home runs and 47 RBIs. The following year, he had a career-high 11 home runs with 51 RBIs. Overall, Addis played for six seasons in the major leagues, hitting .247 with 25 home runs and 150 RBIs.
