Bobby Dickerson was born on September 9, 1965, in Kentucky, United States. He is a former professional baseball player and currently serves as the third-base coach for the San Diego Padres. In 1994, Dickerson changed his career path and became a coach. He served as a hitting coach for several minor league teams in the Yankees organization from 1994 to 1999. In 2000, Bobby joined the Arizona Diamondbacks organization as a roving infield instructor. He also served as a third-base coach for their minor league teams. Bobby then moved to the Baltimore Orioles organization in 2002, where he held various positions, including infield coordinator, roving minor league field coordinator, and minor league manager.

In 2010, Bobby was promoted to the major leagues as the Baltimore Orioles' third-base coach. He stayed with the team for nine seasons and helped them reach the playoffs in 2012, 2014, and 2016. In 2019, he joined the coaching staff of the Philadelphia Phillies as the infield coach. After one season, he moved to the San Diego Padres as their third-base coach, where he currently serves.
