Bobby Parnell Autographs
Bobby Parnell is a former American professional baseball pitcher who played for the New York Mets for seven seasons, from 2008 to 2015. Born on September 8, 1984, in Salisbury, North Carolina, Parnell was initially drafted in the 21st round by the Seattle Mariners in 2003 but chose to attend college instead. He attended Charleston Southern University and later transferred to East Carolina University, where he played college baseball and was drafted in 2005 by the Mets.
Parnell started his minor league career with the Mets' rookie leagues before being promoted to Single-A Brooklyn Cyclones in 2006. He quickly rose through the ranks and made his Major League debut on September 15, 2008, against the Washington Nationals. In 2009, Parnell emerged as one of the Mets' key relief pitchers and continued to hone his craft. He became the Mets' primary setup man in 2010 and earned his first Major League save in 2011. Parnell's fastball, which averaged between 96 and 98 miles per hour, was his signature pitch.
Although Parnell struggled with injuries, he managed to amass impressive statistics during his baseball career. He pitched in 329 games for the Mets, accumulating an ERA of 3.79, with 20 saves and 365 strikeouts. After a shoulder injury in 2014 and subsequent Tommy John surgery, Parnell struggled to regain his form and was released by the Mets in 2015. He later played for the Detroit Tigers but did not pitch in the Major Leagues again. Nonetheless, Parnell's impact on the Mets' bullpen during his prime years makes him one of the most revered pitchers in the team's history.
