Brad Ziegler Autographs
Brad Ziegler is a former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 11 seasons from 2008 to 2019. Born on October 10, 1979, in Pratt, Kansas, Ziegler attended Southwest Missouri State University (now known as Missouri State University) and was a standout baseball player for the Bears. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 31st round of the 2003 MLB draft, but he did not sign with the team and opted to continue playing college baseball.
After college, Brad Ziegler signed with the Oakland Athletics as a non-drafted free agent in 2004. He quickly rose through the ranks of the A's minor league system and made his MLB debut on May 30, 2008, against the Detroit Tigers. Ziegler emerged as a reliable reliever for the A's and became known for his submarine-style delivery, which baffled hitters. He had his best season in 2008, finishing with a 1.06 earned run average (ERA) in 59 innings pitched and earning him a spot on the American League All-Star team.
Over the course of his career, Brad Ziegler also played for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Boston Red Sox, and Miami Marlins. He finished his career with a 3.16 ERA, 105 saves, and 713 strikeouts in 739 innings pitched. Ziegler was known for his durability and consistency, and he was respected throughout the league for his professionalism and work ethic. After retiring from baseball in 2019, Ziegler joined the Arizona Diamondbacks front office as a special assistant to the general manager.
