Throughout his 14-year career, Anderson established himself as one of the league's top outfielders, helping lead the Orioles to the American League Championship Series in 1996 and 1997. He was named to the American League All-Star team in 1992, won a Gold Glove award in 1997, and set a franchise record with 50 stolen bases in 1992. He also hit 50 home runs in 1996, becoming just the fourth player in major league history to record at least 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a season.

After retiring from professional baseball in 2002, Anderson continued to stay involved in the sport by working in front office positions for various teams.
