Born on August 26, 1980, in Queensbury, New York, Harris attended William & Mary College where he was a standout player on the school's baseball team. After several years in the minor leagues, Harris made his MLB debut in 2004 with the Montreal Expos. He went on to play for several other teams including the Washington Nationals, Cincinnati Reds, Tampa Bay Rays, Minnesota Twins, and Los Angeles Angels. Throughout his career, Harris played primarily as a middle infielder but also saw some time at third base and in the outfield.
