Brian Harper Autographs
Brian Harper was an American baseball player who was born on October 16, 1959, in Los Angeles, California. Harper was known for his powerful hitting and strong defensive skills during his Major League Baseball career. He started his professional baseball career in 1977 when he was drafted by the California Angels in the 4th round of the draft.
During his MLB career that spanned from 1979 to 1995, Brian played for several teams including the Angels, Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Cardinals, Toronto Blue Jays, Minnesota Twins and Oakland Athletics. He won a World Series championship with the Minnesota Twins in 1991, where he hit .333 with 1 double and 5 runs batted in. Brian was also a two-time All-Star in 1990 and 1991 and was among the top offensive catchers during his time in the league. Throughout his career, Brian Harper batted .295 with 1,021 hits, 63 home runs and 423 RBI in 1,001 games.
After retiring from playing baseball, Brian Harper went on to become a coach. He worked as a hitting coach for several minor league teams and served as a bench coach for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2004. Harper now spends his time travelling to different baseball clinics and sharing his expertise with young baseball players. He is remembered as a skilled catcher, a reliable hitter, and a respected mentor to many young players.
