Brian Snitker was born on October 17, 1955, in Decatur, Illinois. He is a former player and longtime coach for the Atlanta Braves organization. Snitker began his baseball career as a player in 1977, when he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Braves. He played in their minor league system for six seasons until 1982, mostly at the Double-A level. Snitker worked his way up the coaching ranks in the Braves organization, beginning as a coach for their rookie league team before moving up to manage at various levels of their minor league system. He managed the Triple-A Richmond Braves from 2006-2008 and 2014-2016. He was also the Braves' third-base coach from 2007-2013 and served as their interim manager for the final games of the 2016 season.
