Brook Fordyce Autograph

Brook Fordyce is a retired American baseball catcher who played in Major League Baseball for more than a decade. Born on May 7, 1970, in New London, Connecticut, Fordyce was a standout baseball player while attending Bacon Academy. He attended the University of Connecticut, where he played for the UConn Huskies baseball team, and was drafted by the New York Mets in the third round of the 1989 MLB Draft. Fordyce made his major league debut with the New York Mets in 1995, but he was mostly used as a backup catcher during his time with the team. He played for the Mets until 1997 when he was traded to the Cincinnati Reds. The following year, he was traded to the Baltimore Orioles, where he would spend the majority of his career. With the Orioles, he became a regular starter, and he helped lead the team to the playoffs in 1997 and 1998.

In 1999, he had his best season, hitting .282 with 19 home runs and 68 RBIs. He also won the Gold Glove award for his excellent defensive play. Fordyce spent time with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Chicago White Sox, and Toronto Blue Jays before retiring in 2005. In his 13-year career, he hit .258, with 65 home runs and 351 RBIs.
