Brook Jacoby Autographs
Brook Jacoby is an American former professional baseball player, born on November 23, 1959. He played in Major League Baseball as a third baseman and was known for his defensive prowess, solid batting average, and high on-base percentage. To begin his baseball career, Jacoby was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the fifth round of the 1979 MLB draft.
Jacoby spent most of his career with the Cleveland Indians, where he played for seven seasons from 1984 to 1990. During his time with the Indians, he was highly regarded as one of the best third basemen in the American League. He also earned his first and only All-Star selection in 1990. In addition, Jacoby finished his career with a .270 batting average, 1,217 hits, and 120 home runs over a span of 11 seasons.
After retiring from playing baseball, Jacoby transitioned to coaching. He began coaching in the minors in 2000 as a hitting coach for the Oakland Athletics. He then moved on to work as the hitting coach for the Texas Rangers in 2003, where he spent four seasons. Later on, Jacoby returned to his former team, the Cleveland Indians, as their assistant hitting coach in 2010. He then served as the hitting coach for the Cincinnati Reds from 2014 to 2018, where he helped the team rank in the top ten for runs scored during the 2017 season. Overall, Jacoby has had a successful baseball career as a player and later as a coach.
