Casey Cox is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who was born on July 3, 1944, in Santa Rosa, California. He was drafted by the Washington Senators in 1966 and played for them until 1968, when he was traded to the Cleveland Indians. He played for the Indians for two seasons before being traded to the Cincinnati Reds in 1970. He played for the Reds until his retirement in 1977. More about Casey Cox

Cox had a successful baseball career as a reliever. During his six-year career, he amassed a 31-20 record with 28 saves and a 3.64 ERA. His best season came in 1973 when he posted a 1.46 ERA and 14 saves, helping the Reds win the National League pennant. He also played in the 1975 World Series, where the Reds defeated the Boston Red Sox in seven games.

After retiring from baseball, Cox became a high school baseball coach and taught history. He was inducted into the Santa Rosa Junior College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011 in recognition of his contributions to the school's baseball program.
