Cecil Espy Autograph

Cecil Espy was a former Major League Baseball player who played for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Texas Rangers during his career. He was born in Decatur, Alabama, in 1963 and attended Valley High School before signing with the Dodgers in 1981. Espy made his major league debut on April 10, 1987, with the Dodgers, where he played for two seasons before being traded to the Texas Rangers in 1989. More about Cecil Espy

Espy's best season in the majors came in 1991 with the Rangers when he batted .276 with six home runs, 49 RBI, and 14 stolen bases in 121 games. He was known for his speed and defense, often playing center field or left field for both teams he played for. While he was not considered a power hitter, he had a solid batting average and was known for his aggressive base running.

After his playing career, Espy worked as a minor league coach for the Houston Astros and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He also served as a scout for the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies. Today, Espy continues to be involved in baseball, serving as a coach and mentor to young players.
