Chad Allen Autographs
Chad Allen is a former American professional baseball outfielder who was born on September 5, 1975, in Dallas, Texas. He attended J. J. Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas, where he played as a center fielder for the school’s baseball team. After graduation, he joined Texas A&M University, where he continued playing baseball for the Aggies until he became eligible for the MLB draft in 1996.
In the 1996 MLB draft, Chad Allen was picked by the Minnesota Twins in the fourth round (111th overall). He started his professional baseball career in the Twins farm system, playing for the Rookie-level club, Elizabethton Twins. He quickly climbed up the ranks and made his MLB debut for the Twins in August 1999. In his debut season, he appeared in 13 games, recording 7 hits, 2 RBIs, and a batting average of .241. He spent the next three seasons bouncing back and forth between the Twins and their minor league affiliates but could not solidify a spot on the big club. He had brief stints with the Cleveland Indians and the Florida Marlins before being released after the 2004 season. Overall, Chad played in 314 MLB games over seven seasons, recording 278 career hits with a .272 batting average.
After retiring from professional baseball, Chad Allen transitioned into coaching roles. He is currently the head baseball coach for the Midland College Chaparrals, a position he has held since July 2013. Under his leadership, the Chaparrals have won two regional championships and have gone on to participate in the NJCAA World Series. Chad remains an active member of the baseball community and continues to inspire young athletes to follow their dreams.
