Chad Curtis was an American professional baseball outfielder who played for major league clubs between 1992 and 2001. He was born on November 6, 1968, in Marion, Indiana, and attended Mt. Vernon High School where he played baseball, basketball, and football. Curtis excelled in baseball and was selected by the California Angels in the 45th round of the 1986 Major League Baseball draft. Curtis retired from baseball in 2001, and in the years since, he has remained involved in the sport as both a coach and commentator. However, in 2012, he was convicted of sexually assaulting teenage girls during his time as a high school volunteer coach. Curtis was sentenced to seven to 15 years in prison and is currently incarcerated.
