Chone Figgins is a former professional baseball player who played in Major League Baseball from 2002 to 2014. He was born on January 22, 1978, in Leary, Georgia. Figgins began his professional baseball career after being drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the fourth round of the 1997 MLB Draft. During his 12-year career, Figgins played mainly as a third baseman and a second baseman. He was known for his speed on the basepaths and his ability to steal bases. He also had great defensive skills, making several highlight-reel plays throughout his career. Figgins had his best season in 2009, when he led the American League in walks and stolen bases, and was named to the All-Star team. He played for several teams throughout his career, including the Seattle Mariners and the Los Angeles Dodgers, but it was with the Angels that he had the most success, helping them reach the playoffs in six of his eight seasons with the team.

In 2014, Figgins announced his retirement from professional baseball. He finished his career with a batting average of .276, 35 home runs, and 402 RBIs. Figgins will always be remembered as a versatile player who was always willing to do whatever it took to help his team win. He was also known for his leadership skills, both on and off the field.
