Coste started his professional baseball career in the independent leagues before eventually making his MLB debut in 2006 with the Philadelphia Phillies at the age of 33. He quickly became a fan favorite due to his perseverance and unlikely journey to the major leagues. Coste was a member of the Phillies' 2008 World Series championship team, and his contributions were instrumental in the team's success.
