Chris Duncan is a former professional baseball player who was born on May 5, 1981, in Tucson, Arizona. Duncan started his baseball journey when he played for the Canyon del Oro High School in his hometown, and he played as an outfielder and pitcher. After high school, Duncan went to the University of Arizona, where he continued his baseball career and studied economics. Duncan played for the St. Louis Cardinals from 2005 to 2009, where he was a left fielder and first baseman. He had an impressive rookie season in 2006, hitting 22 home runs and had 43 RBIs in 90 games. Duncan hit the game-winning homer in Game 4 of the 2006 World Series against the Detroit Tigers. The St. Louis Cardinals won their first World Series since 1982, and Duncan played a significant role in their victory. He played a total of 389 games for the Cardinals, with a (245/348/458) slash line and hitting 55 home runs.

Duncan's baseball career came to a halt in 2010 after he struggled with injuries and was eventually released by the Cardinals. He then played for a brief time with the Washington Nationals before retiring in 2011 due to a neck injury. After his retirement, Duncan became a radio analyst for the Cardinals and later became a co-host of a sports radio show in St. Louis. Even though his baseball career ended early, Duncan will always be remembered for his contributions to the St. Louis Cardinals and their 2006 World Series victory.
