Over the course of his 8-year Major League career, Ray played for five different teams, including the Orioles, the Texas Rangers, the San Francisco Giants, the Seattle Mariners, and the Cleveland Indians. He established himself as a reliable relief pitcher and saved over 51 games throughout his career with an ERA of 4.10. One of his most notable accomplishments was recording his 50th career save in 2010, becoming just the eighth player in history to achieve that feat in fewer than 200 career appearances.

Despite suffering from injuries later in his career, Ray continued to work hard and was admired for his dedication to the game. His love for baseball never faded, and after retiring in 2013, he went on to become a Minor League coach for the Tampa Bay Rays organization. Today, he remains an active member of the baseball community and is remembered as a talented and passionate athlete who made major contributions to the sport.
