Chris Short was a skilled baseball player from Wilmington, Delaware. Born on September 19, 1937, he was the eldest of three brothers. He discovered his love for baseball at a young age and started playing in high school. Chris Short played baseball at the University of Delaware, where he set records for strikeouts in a single game and season. After completing his collegiate career, Chris Short began playing professionally with the Boston Red Sox. However, he made his mark with the Philadelphia Phillies. From 1959 to 1964, Chris Short was one of the most dominant pitchers in the National League. He held a remarkable 132-93 record with an ERA of 3.43.
