Chris Stratton Autographs
Chris Stratton is a former American professional baseball player who made his way to the big leagues with the San Francisco Giants. Born on August 22, 1990, in Tupelo, Mississippi, Stratton attended Tupelo High School, where he excelled in both basketball and baseball. He then moved on to Mississippi State University, where he played college baseball for three years under the tutelage of head coach John Cohen.
In 2012, Stratton was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the first round of the MLB draft with the 20th overall pick. After impressive performances in the minor leagues, he was promoted to the major leagues in 2017. Over the course of his career, he played in 61 games, with a record of 14-14 and an ERA of 5.46. His pitching arsenal included a four-seam fastball, slider, changeup, and curveball, all of which he deployed with great efficiency.
Despite showing some promise early on in his career, Stratton struggled to get consistent playing time in the major leagues. After being designated for assignment by the Giants in 2019, he was picked up by the Pittsburgh Pirates but ultimately failed to establish himself as a regular starter. In 2021, he signed a minor league contract with the Cleveland Indians but was released shortly after. Nonetheless, his impressive college and minor league career, as well as his brief stint in the major leagues, solidified his legacy as one of Mississippi State's most successful baseball players.
