Chris Zachary Autographs
Chris Zachary is a former professional baseball player who was born on December 11, 1944, in South Amboy, New Jersey. During his high school years, Zachary was a standout baseball prospect and was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the fourth round of the 1963 Major League Baseball draft. After a few years in the minors, Zachary made his major league debut on April 24, 1969, for the Tigers. He went on to spend six seasons in the major leagues, playing for the Tigers, Houston Astros, and Montreal Expos.
During his career, Zachary was primarily used as a relief pitcher, and he had a career record of 21 wins and 22 losses with a 3.12 earned run average (ERA). He recorded 22 saves and struck out 254 batters in 368 innings pitched. Zachary's best season came in 1970 while playing for the Astros when he had a 2.02 ERA and 11 saves. He also pitched in the 1969 World Series for the Tigers, appearing in two games and allowing one run in two innings pitched.
Zachary retired from professional baseball in 1975 and began a career in the healthcare industry. He worked for several companies in various roles, including sales and marketing. Despite his short career, Zachary remains a beloved figure among baseball fans and is remembered for his contributions to the game.
