Cody Allen Autographs
Cody Allen is an American former professional baseball player who played as a relief pitcher. He was born on November 20, 1988, in Orlando, Florida. He grew up playing baseball in his hometown and was a standout player in high school, where he was named the Orange County Player of the Year. Allen went on to attend St. Petersburg College, where he continued to excel in baseball.
In 2011, Cody Allen was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 23rd round of the MLB Draft. He started his professional career with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in the New York-Penn League. He quickly rose through the ranks and was promoted to the Double-A Akron Aeros in 2012. Allen made his major league debut on July 20, 2012, and became a fixture in the Indians' bullpen for the next seven years. During his time with the Indians, he became a two-time All-Star and helped the team reach the World Series in 2016.
After leaving the Indians in 2019, Cody Allen signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Angels, where he struggled with injuries and was ultimately released in June 2019. He signed a minor league deal with the Minnesota Twins in 2020 but did not play due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In January 2021, Allen announced his retirement from baseball at the age of 32. Over his career, he had a record of 26-34 and a career ERA of 3.14 with 153 saves.
