Cory Snyder was born on November 11, 1962, in Inglewood, California. From an early age, he showed a passion for baseball, and he started playing at a young age. He attended Brigham Young University, where he played college baseball for the BYU Cougars. In 1983, he was drafted by the Cleveland Indians as the fourth overall pick in the first round. Snyder quickly made a name for himself in the majors, hitting 24 home runs in his rookie season in 1986.
