Craig BreslowCraig Breslow is an American former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 12 seasons from 2005 to 2018. Born on August 8, 1980, in New Haven, Connecticut, Breslow attended Yale University where he played as a left-handed pitcher for the Yale Bulldogs baseball team. After earning his degree in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale, Breslow signed as an undrafted free agent with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2002 and began his professional baseball career in the minor leagues.
Breslow made his major league debut with the San Diego Padres in 2005 and then played for the Boston Red Sox, Minnesota Twins, Oakland Athletics, Cleveland Indians, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Miami Marlins before retiring in 2018. As a relief pitcher, he is known for his deceptive arm angle and ability to strike out batters with his breaking ball. Breslow won the World Series championship with the Red Sox in 2013 and made the All-Star team that same year.
In addition to his professional baseball career, Breslow has also been active in charitable work and advocacy for medical research. He established the Strike 3 Foundation in 2008 to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research, and he earned a master's degree in molecular biophysics and biochemistry during his playing career. After retiring from baseball, Breslow became the Director of Strategic Initiatives for Activate Healthcare, a healthcare company that provides on-site and near-site clinics for employers.
