Damon Buford Autographs
Damon Buford is a former Major League Baseball outfielder who was born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 12, 1970. He is the son of Don Buford, a former MLB player who was also an all-time great in the Negro Leagues. Despite being undrafted out of high school, Damon went on to play for two Division I colleges, one of which was USC. He was eventually drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the tenth round of the 1990 MLB draft.
Damon made his major league debut in 1993 with the White Sox and spent the next several seasons playing for various teams such as the Baltimore Orioles, Texas Rangers, and Montreal Expos. During his six-year career in the majors, he played in nearly 500 games and had a batting average of .257. He was known for his speed, as evidenced by his 51 stolen bases throughout his career. Additionally, Damon was a solid outfielder and had a strong arm.
In addition to his MLB career, Damon also played for several teams in international leagues. He played in Japan for the Seibu Lions and had a batting average of .283 in 1996. He also played in the Mexican League and was a member of the 2000 championship team, the Vaqueros Laguna. After retiring from baseball, Damon went on to coach and manage in the minor leagues for several years. Today, he remains active in baseball as a scout for the Baltimore Orioles.
