Dan Straily Autographs
Dan Straily is a retired American professional baseball pitcher. He was born on December 1, 1988, in Redlands, California. He attended Thurston High School in Springfield, Oregon, where he lettered in both baseball and football. His passion for baseball eventually led him to attend Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, and play for the Thundering Herd baseball team.
After college, Straily was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 24th round of the 2009 Major League Baseball draft. He worked his way up through the minor leagues and made his MLB debut with the Athletics on August 3, 2012. In 2013, he had his best season with the A's, winning 10 games with a 3.96 ERA. Over the course of his major league career, Straily also played for the Houston Astros, Cincinnati Reds, Miami Marlins, Baltimore Orioles, and San Francisco Giants.
Straily announced his retirement from baseball in 2021, and his final season was with the Lotte Giants in the Korean Baseball Organization. He finishes his career with a record of 48-53 and a 4.56 ERA in 801 innings pitched. Straily was known for his ability to strike batters out, reaching a career-high of 191 strikeouts in 2016 while with the Reds. He was also a two-time minor league All-Star selection and a two-time Pacific Coast League champion.
