Dan Warthen Autographs

Dan Warthen is a retired Major League Baseball pitcher and current coach. He was born on December 1, 1952, in Fresno, California. In 1970, he was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the second round of the Major League Baseball draft. He played in the major leagues for 8 seasons from 1975 to 1985 for the Philadelphia Phillies, Houston Astros, New York Mets, and Los Angeles Dodgers. During his career, he had a record of 69-79 with an ERA of 3.93.
After his playing days were over, Warthen began working as a coach. He served as the pitching coach for several teams, including the Detroit Tigers, San Diego Padres, and Seattle Mariners before his long tenure as the pitching coach for the New York Mets from 2008 to 2018. During his time with the Mets, he was credited with helping to develop young pitchers such as Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom, and Noah Syndergaard. He was widely respected as a pitching coach and was known for his ability to communicate effectively with his players and instill confidence in them.
Warthen retired as a coach in 2018. He was well-respected in the baseball world, and his contributions to the sport were recognized by many. Despite his modest career as a player, Warthen's legacy will be his work as a coach, where he helped many young players develop and reach their full potential.
