Dane Dunning Autographs
Dane Dunning was born on December 20, 1994, in Fleming Island, Florida. He attended Clay High School where he played baseball and football. However, Dunning decided to focus on baseball and was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 34th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft. He opted not to sign with the Blue Jays and instead chose to attend the University of Florida.
In 2016, Dunning was selected by the Washington Nationals as the 29th overall pick in the first round of the MLB Draft. He made his professional debut with the Auburn Doubledays of the New York-Penn League and was later promoted to the Hagerstown Suns of the South Atlantic League. In 2017, Dunning was traded to the Chicago White Sox as part of a deal that sent outfielder Adam Eaton to the Nationals.
Dunning made his Major League debut for the White Sox on August 19, 2020, against the Detroit Tigers. He pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing only two hits and striking out seven batters. Unfortunately, his rookie season was cut short when he suffered a strained right flexor tendon in his first start of a doubleheader against the Kansas City Royals on September 25. Despite the injury, Dunning finished his first season with a 2-0 record and a 3.97 ERA in seven starts. He is considered one of the promising young pitchers in the White Sox organization and is expected to play a key role in the team's success in the years to come.
