Danny Tartabull was a major league baseball player who enjoyed a lengthy and successful career spanning 14 years from 1984 to 1997. Tartabull was born on October 30, 1962, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but he grew up in Southern California. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles but dropped out after his freshman year to pursue a career as a professional baseball player. Tartabull went on to play for six different teams during his career, including the Kansas City Royals, the New York Yankees, and the Oakland Athletics. He was particularly known for his impressive power at bat and was a two-time All-Star in 1991 and 1992. Tartabull finished his career with a batting average of .273 along with 262 home runs and 925 runs batted in. Despite his success on the field, Tartabull was plagued by injuries later in his career, which ultimately led to his retirement in 1997.

Aside from his baseball career, Tartabull has been involved in various charitable activities. He has worked with organizations such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation and served as a spokesperson for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. In addition, he and his wife have also established the Danny Tartabull Foundation, which focuses on promoting education and sports programs for disadvantaged children.
