Darold Knowles Autographs
Darold Knowles is a former American baseball player who played as a left-handed pitcher. He was born in 1941 in Brunswick, Missouri, and grew up in the town of Sturgeon. Knowles began playing baseball at a young age and showed immense potential as a pitcher. In 1961, he was signed by the Washington Senators as an amateur free agent and made his debut with the team in 1965.
Knowles had a successful baseball career, playing for several different teams throughout his 16-year career. He is perhaps best known for his performance in the 1973 World Series, where he played for the Oakland Athletics. Knowles appeared in all seven games of the series and picked up one win and two saves, helping the A's win their second straight championship. This performance earned him the distinction of being the first pitcher in history to appear in all seven games of a World Series.
Over the course of his career, Knowles pitched for the Washington Senators, Chicago Cubs, Oakland Athletics, St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers, and Montreal Expos. He was named an All-Star in 1969 and finished his career with a 66-74 record and a 3.12 ERA. Knowles was also known for his durability, as he appeared in over 700 games during his career, making him one of the top 100 pitchers in terms of games pitched in Major League Baseball history.
