Dave Cole Autographs
Dave Cole is a former professional baseball player who was born on October 3, 1965, in Toledo, Ohio. He was a standout athlete in high school, excelling in both football and baseball. After graduation, he decided to pursue baseball and attended the University of Michigan where he played as a catcher. In 1986, he was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 10th round of the MLB draft.
Cole made his professional debut in 1986 with the Everett Giants, San Francisco's Single-A affiliate. He quickly climbed the ranks, advancing to the Triple-A level in 1989. Cole made his major league debut with the Giants in 1992, where he appeared in 11 games as a catcher. He spent the majority of his career as a backup catcher, playing for several teams including the San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, and Pittsburgh Pirates.
Despite spending most of his career as a backup catcher, Dave Cole was known for his strong defensive skills and ability to handle a pitching staff. He retired from baseball in 1999, finishing his career with a .214 batting average, two home runs, and 22 RBIs in 104 games. After retiring from baseball, Cole became a coach and spent several years working in the minor leagues. He currently lives in Toledo, Ohio, where he is active in the community and continues to share his love of baseball with others.
