Dave Dravecky was a left-handed pitcher born in Youngstown, Ohio on February 14, 1956. He had a passion for baseball since childhood, and his talent on the field earned him a spot on the team at the University of Pacific in Stockton, California. In 1978, he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates and made his Major League debut on June 15, 1982, in a game against the New York Mets. Dravecky played for several teams throughout his career, including the San Diego Padres and the San Francisco Giants, where he had some of his best performances.
