Dave Eiland Autographs
Dave Eiland is a former Major League Baseball pitcher and current pitching coach. Eiland was born on May 5, 1966, in Dade City, Florida. He attended Zephyrhills High School, where he was a standout on the varsity baseball team. Eiland was then selected by the New York Yankees in the seventh round of the 1987 Major League Baseball draft.
Eiland made his MLB debut for the Yankees on August 8, 1988. He was a member of the championship-winning Yankees teams in 1996 and 1998, primarily serving as a reliever. Eiland spent time with the San Diego Padres, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and New York Mets before retiring as a player in 2000. He finished his MLB career with a 12-27 record, 5.74 ERA, and 220 strikeouts in 327 innings pitched.
After retiring as a player, Eiland became a minor league pitching coach for the Yankees. He later served as the pitching coach for the West Virginia Power, Montgomery Biscuits, and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees. In 2008, Eiland was named the pitching coach for the New York Yankees, a position he held until 2010. Eiland then joined the Kansas City Royals as their pitching coach, where he was part of the team that won the 2015 World Series. Eiland is currently the pitching coach for the Philadelphia Phillies.
