Dave Koslo Autographs
Dave Koslo was an American professional baseball player who was born in Menands, New York in 1920. Koslo played as a left-handed pitcher for four teams over his 11-year career in the Major Leagues, including the New York Giants, Baltimore Orioles, Milwaukee Braves, and Philadelphia Phillies. He was known for his ability to throw a devastating curveball that often befuddled opposing batters.
Koslo’s best season came in 1949 when he posted a 20-10 record and led the National League in strikeouts with 116. He played a key role in the Giants’ pennant-winning season that year, but his team ultimately lost to the New York Yankees in the World Series. Koslo was often praised for his ability to pitch under pressure, and his performance in the postseason was always solid.
After retiring from baseball in 1956, Koslo went on to work in sales for a meat company. He never lost his love for the game though, and would often attend old-timers games and charity events in the years that followed. Dave Koslo passed away in 1975 at the age of 54, but his legacy as one of the great left-handed pitchers of his era lives on.
