Dave Niehaus Autograph

Dave Niehaus was an American sportscaster best known for his work with the Seattle Mariners. Born on February 19th, 1935, Niehaus grew up in Princeton, Indiana, and developed a passion for sports at an early age. He attended Indiana University, where he was the voice of the Hoosiers football and basketball teams. After college, Niehaus worked as a radio announcer for the Cincinnati Reds and then the California Angels. In 1977, he moved to Seattle to join the Mariners' inaugural broadcast team. Niehaus was the voice of the Seattle Mariners for 34 seasons, from their first game in 1977 until his death in 2010. He was known for his enthusiastic and colorful style of broadcasting, which earned him a legion of fans among baseball aficionados in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Niehaus was beloved for his signature catchphrases, including "My, oh my!" and "It will fly away!"
