David Green is a former American stock car racing driver. He was born on September 28, 1958, in Owensboro, Kentucky. Green began his racing career in 1983, competing in local tracks before gradually progressing to NASCAR’s Busch Series in 1989. He raced for several teams and won his first Busch Series race at Lanier National Speedway in 1994. More about David Green

Green had his breakout season in 1994 when he joined Labonte Motorsports, driving the #44 Chevrolet. He went on to win four races, finishing second in the points standings behind his teammate, Terry Labonte. He also won the pole for the season finale at Hickory Motor Speedway. Green’s success continued into the next season when he won two more races and finished third in the points standings. In 1997, he won the Busch Series championship with three wins, 12 top-five finishes, and 23 top-ten finishes.

Green’s career in NASCAR went on for more than two decades. He continued to drive in the Busch Series and Winston Cup Series, now known as the Cup Series, with limited success. His final major race came in 2014 at Road America, where he finished 41st. Green retired from racing in 2017, ending a career that spanned more than 400 races and included nine wins and one championship.
