Blair's college career was marked by several impressive performances that caught the attention of NBA scouts. In 2009, Blair was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs in the second round of the NBA Draft. During his rookie season, Blair was a key contributor to the Spurs, averaging 7.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. Blair went on to spend five seasons in the NBA, playing for the Spurs, Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards, and Philadelphia 76ers. Overall, he averaged 6.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game throughout his career.

In addition to his professional career, Blair also played for the United States national basketball team in the 2011 Pan American Games, helping the team to win the bronze medal. After retiring from professional basketball, Blair has remained involved in the sport by coaching and mentoring young players in his hometown of Pittsburgh.
