Dick Davis

Dick Davis was an American baseball player who was born on December 28, 1937, in Troy, New York. He played as an outfielder and made his debut in Major League Baseball in 1960 with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Davis played for the Dodgers from 1960 to 1963 and then moved to the Milwaukee Braves, where he played from 1964 to 1966. He finished his MLB career with the Cleveland Indians in 1969. In his four-year career with the Dodgers, Davis was a key part of the team's success, as they won the National League pennant in 1963. He batted .255 with three home runs and 21 RBI in 113 games that season. In the World Series against the New York Yankees, Davis made a crucial play in Game 3, throwing out a runner at home plate to preserve a tie game. However, the Dodgers ultimately lost the series in four games.

After his time with the Dodgers, Davis continued to have a solid career, with his best season coming in 1965 with the Braves, when he hit .285 with 11 home runs and 49 RBI in 126 games. He was also named to the National League All-Star team that season. Overall, Davis played in 589 games in his MLB career, with a batting average of .245, 17 home runs, and 106 RBI. He retired from baseball after the 1969 season and went on to work as a teacher and coach in his hometown of Troy, New York.
