Drott's best season came in 1958, when he won 15 games for the Cubs and was named to the National League All-Star team. He was only 21 years old at the time, making him one of the youngest All-Stars in baseball history. Drott's success was short-lived, however, as he suffered from arm injuries that plagued him for the rest of his career. He was traded to the Houston Colt .45s (later known as the Astros) in 1963, where he continued to struggle with injuries and was eventually released by the team in 1966.

After his baseball career ended, Drott returned to Cincinnati and worked as a plant manager for a plastics company. Despite his relatively short career, Dick Drott remains a beloved figure among baseball fans, particularly those who remember his impressive debut and All-Star season with the Cubs. He passed away on June 25, 2011, at the age of 74. Read even more about Dick Drott at Wikipedia
