Dick Stigman was an American professional baseball pitcher who played in the Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cleveland Indians, Minnesota Twins, and Boston Red Sox. He was born on January 24, 1936, in Nimrod, Minnesota, and grew up playing baseball in the small town of Perham. His professional career started in 1955 when the Cleveland Indians signed him as an amateur free agent. After retiring from professional baseball, Stigman settled in Mesa, Arizona, where he coached baseball, and worked as an electrician. Sadly, on January 2, 2021, Stigman passed away at the age of 84. Despite his short pro baseball career, Dick Stigman was a talented pitcher who left a lasting impact on the sport. His record as a strikeout leader in the American League in 1963 and his World Series appearance with the Minnesota Twins are testament to his significant contribution to MLB's history.
