Don Aase Autographs
Don Aase was a pitcher who played in the Major Baseball League (MLB) from 1977 to 1990. During his 13-year career, Aase played for the California Angels, Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, and New York Mets. He is regarded as one of the most reliable relief pitchers of his era and played a significant role in the success of the teams he played for.
Aase made his MLB debut in 1977 for the California Angels, where he spent the first 6 years of his career. During his tenure with the Angels, he became the team's closer, earning 34 saves in 1983, and was named an All-Star twice. In 1985, he signed with the Boston Red Sox, but his time with the team was plagued by injuries. He made a comeback in 1987 with the Baltimore Orioles, where he played for three seasons, earning 81 saves and was named the American League Comeback Player of the Year in 1989.
Aase concluded his MLB career with the New York Mets in 1990, where he served as a setup man for closer John Franco. Throughout his career, Aase earned 82 saves and a 3.80 ERA. After his retirement, Aase remained involved in baseball, serving as a coach for various teams, including the Los Angeles Angels and Texas Rangers. His achievements and success as a player and coach earned him a spot in the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame.
