Doug Bair was a professional baseball player born on August 22, 1949, in Defiance, Ohio. He began his baseball career at Bowling Green State University, where he played as a pitcher before he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1971. Doug made his Major League debut with the Pirates in 1976, but it was in the late 1970s when he began to make a name for himself.
