Doug DeCinces was a professional baseball player born on August 29, 1950. He started his baseball career at the age of 15, where he excelled as a standout player at the Santa Monica High School. In 1970, Doug was signed by the Baltimore Orioles as a third baseman. He made his debut in 1973 and stayed with the Orioles until 1981. In 1982, Doug was traded to the California Angels where he continued to showcase his skills as a third baseman. He was selected to the All-Star team in 1983 and was among the top third baseman in the league. Doug's best season came in 1986 when he hit 30 home runs and 97 RBIs, a career-high. He continued to play for the Angels until 1987 when he was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals. He retired from baseball in 1988 after playing for 15 years in the Major League.

Doug DeCinces accumulated many accolades throughout his baseball career. He registered 1,505 career hits, 237 home runs, and 879 RBIs. Doug was known for his defensive prowess as well, recording 1,144 putouts and committing only 152 errors in his career. He was inducted into the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame in 2006. Despite his success on the field, DeCinces was later found guilty of insider trading and faced some legal challenges after his baseball career.
