Doug Harvey was a renowned baseball umpire with a nearly 32-year career in the Major Leagues. Born in California’s Orange County in 1930, Harvey grew up playing baseball before turning to amateur umpiring in the Long Beach area. As an umpire, Harvey earned a reputation for being one of the most reliable and consistent on-field officials, known for making accurate and timely decisions even in the biggest games.
