Duffy Dyer, born in Dayton, Ohio in 1945, is a former American professional baseball catcher who played in the major leagues for thirteen seasons. Dyer attended Arizona State University where he played college baseball and was eventually drafted into the major leagues by the New York Mets in 1966. He played for the Mets from 1968-1972 and again from 1975-1977, helping the team win their first World Series in 1969. Duffy Dyer to Return for Second Season in Kenosha (09/06/14): Kenosha Kingfish Field Manager Duffy Dyer will return to Kenosha for the 2015 season. The 2014 summer was Dyer's first experience coaching college athletes and he enjoyed a successful campaign during his first year in the Northwood League.
