Earl Whitehill Autographs

Earl Whitehill was a professional baseball player who played as a pitcher in the major leagues from 1923 to 1939. He was born on February 7, 1899, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and was signed by the Detroit Tigers at the age of 19. He made his debut for the Tigers in 1923 and played with the team until 1932 when he was traded to the Washington Senators. Whitehill was known for his left-handed pitching and his ability to throw a knuckleball, which made him a formidable opponent on the mound.
During his baseball career, Whitehill played for six different teams, including the Detroit Tigers, Washington Senators, Cleveland Indians, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, and Brooklyn Dodgers. He won a total of 218 games and had an impressive 3.36 ERA over his 17-year career. One of his most memorable moments in baseball came in 1933, when he took the mound in game 7 of the World Series for the Washington Senators. Although the Senators lost the game, Whitehill pitched eight innings and only allowed one run, which earned him the respect and admiration of fans and teammates alike.
After retiring from baseball, Whitehill went on to work as a coach for the University of Michigan baseball team. He was also a participant in the Old-Timers' Game in 1952 and was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 1959. Earl Whitehill passed away on October 22, 1954, at the age of 55, leaving behind a legacy as one of the greatest left-handed pitchers in the history of the game.
