After returning from the war, Brucker resumed his baseball career in the minor leagues before being called up to the major leagues in 1948, playing for the St. Louis Browns. In his rookie year, Brucker played in 46 games and finished with a record of 4 wins and 7 losses. He also had an earned run average of 4.29 and struck out 35 batters. However, his performance declined in the following seasons, and he was eventually released by the Browns in 1951.

Brucker continued to play in the minor leagues until 1955, after which he retired from professional baseball. Over the course of his career, he played for several teams, including the Indianapolis Indians, Columbus Red Birds, San Diego Padres, and the Seattle Rainiers. Despite his short-lived major league career, Brucker's dedication to baseball and service to his country during World War II are a testament to his love for the game and his country.
