Ed Armbrister Autographs
Ed Armbrister was a Bahamian professional baseball player. He was born on July 4, 1948, in Nassau, Bahamas. Armbrister started playing baseball in the Bahamas as a child, where he rapidly showed his innate talent as a player. He signed his first professional baseball contract with the Cincinnati Reds in 1964.
Armbrister played six seasons in the minor leagues before making his Major League debut on September 6, 1973, with the Cincinnati Reds against the Houston Astros. One of his most famous moments as a player came in Game 3 of the 1975 World Series when he hit a bunt single in the 10th inning, which helped the Reds win the game. He also scored the winning run in Game 4 of the same series. Armbrister ended his Major League Baseball career in 1977 with a .245 batting average, two home runs, and 36 runs batted in.
After his baseball career, Armbrister owned a jewelry store in his native Nassau. He also gave back to his community by creating the Ed Armbrister Youth Baseball League, which aims to provide opportunities for Bahamian kids interested in playing baseball to develop their skills. Armbrister passed away on March 17, 2021, at the age of 72, but his legacy and contribution to baseball in the Bahamas will forever be remembered.
