Ed Farmer, born on October 18, 1949, was an American former professional baseball player who played in the Major Leagues as a relief pitcher for 11 seasons from 1971 through 1983. He was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois, and attended St. Rita of Cascia High School on Chicago’s South Side, where he played baseball and basketball. In 1968, Farmer signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers and spent three seasons in their minor league system before making his Major League debut on April 7, 1971. He spent the next few seasons bouncing between the Dodgers, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Baltimore Orioles before being traded to the Chicago White Sox in 1979.
