Ed Head Autographs
Ed Head was a professional baseball player and pitcher. Born on October 1, 1918, in Selma, Alabama, Head began his baseball career in the minor leagues in 1937. He played for several minor league teams until 1940 when he made his major league debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Head was known for his fastball and curveball, which became his signature pitches throughout his career.
In 1946, Head had his best season with the Brooklyn Dodgers, winning 18 games and helping the Dodgers win the National League pennant. He continued to play with the Brooklyn Dodgers until 1951 before being traded to the Boston Braves. However, he only played a few games for the Braves before his career was cut short due to an arm injury. Head retired from baseball in 1954 with a record of 57 wins and 37 losses and an ERA of 3.72.
Despite his relatively short career, Ed Head was a valuable player for the Brooklyn Dodgers, and his contribution to the team's success in the 1946 season cannot be underestimated. Head was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to the game, and he remains an inspiration to aspiring baseball players today. His passion for the sport made him a successful pitcher during his time in the major leagues, and his legacy continues to live on in the world of baseball.
